Landscaping Maintenance
The key to any successful landscape maintenance program is the implementation of long range strategies designed to keep trees, shrubs and turf healthy and aesthetically pleasing while keeping in mind our clients budgetary needs. Proper mowing, routine soil test, tree and shrub pruning, planned turf care, adequate water supply, along with regular observation are all part of a preventative maintenance regimen designed to keep landscapes looking their best throughout the growing season. We can supply you with a landscape maintenance proposal based on your specifications, or develop a customized landscape management plan to fit your budget and needs.
Who is right for you?
There are plenty of landscape management firms vying for your business. Many are credible and capable of providing quality service. And all have their strengths, areas of expertise and good points.
- Know what you want. It takes time, but jot down what you have in mind for your landscape before you request a bid. The only way to ascertain what a firm can provide is to know for sure what you want delivered.
- Do your homework. Look around at other properties in the area to see how they are being maintained. Ask other property managers/owners who they would recommend. Then call the landscape company and ask a few key questions such as: Do you have degreed horticulturists on staff? Do you have insurance to cover both your employees and the property owner? Do you provide continuing education for employees?
- Talk with landscapers about "specifics" to make sure they know what your expectations are and how they plan to deliver on them.
- Don't assume the lowest bid is the one with which to go. When buyers compare what they perceive as "like commodities," the constant is price. No two landscape companies are alike. Property managers/owners should never hire on price alone. The landscaper placing the lowest bid may not fully understand the parameters of the job, or the company might be relatively inexperienced in the field.
- Once you decide on a landscape company, give it time to perform to your expectations. If your landscape has a serious problem, it will take time for even the best landscaper to correct it.
